Glittering lights, the scent of mulled wine, culinary delights, tradition and anticipation - see you on Münsterplatz!
The Ulm Christmas Market is one of the most atmospheric and traditional Christmas markets in southern Germany. Starting on November 19, 2026, a pre-opening event on Münsterplatz invites visitors to take their first stroll through the market—the market will be closed on Remembrance Sunday. The official opening takes place on November 23, 2026, after which Münsterplatz transforms into an atmospheric experience until December 22, 2026—set against the historic backdrop surrounding Ulm Minster.
What began in the 14th century as a fair and winter market is now a destination for culturally curious visitors seeking authenticity: Over 130 stalls with a hand-curated selection—from handmade ceramics to regional specialties and sustainable gift ideas—invite visitors to take a leisurely stroll. Musical performances at the cathedral portal, a live nativity scene with real animals, and new stalls featuring arts and crafts and design give the market a distinct cultural identity.
The Ulm Christmas Market is thus far more than just a place to shop: it is an atmospheric gathering spot where city history, sparkling lights, culinary delights, and shared moments blend together naturally—right in the heart of the city where two lands meet.
