The two-country town is easy to reach; it is conveniently located on the A8 motorway (Stuttgart-Munich, exit Ulm-Ost or Ulm-West) and A7 motorway (Würzburg-Füssen, exit Nersingen or motorway junction Hittistetten). The main roads B10, B19, B28, B30 and B311 take you to the city centre.
Thanks to the long-distance bus network, Ulm and Neu-Ulm are well connected to many major cities and easy to reach.
By train
Ulm is a major city and is conveniently connected to the rail network. Whether by ICE, IC/EC or night train, it is always easy for travellers to reach the two-city region quickly and conveniently.
Many regional trains also stop here. For example, you can reach Ulm main station or Neu-Ulm station directly from Lake Constance, the Allgäu, the Swabian Alb or Bavarian Swabia. The agilis transport company now operates the Ulm-Regensburg route.
Car parks and Park & Ride

If you want to be comfortable, it is best to use one of the Park & Ride car parks in Ulm and travel quickly and comfortably to the city centre by tram.
The following Park & Ride car parks are available for this purpose:
- Science Park II: Take line 2 from the Science Park II stop to the city centre in just 16 minutes to the main station stop
- Donauhalle: Take line 1 from the Donauhalle stop to the city centre to the Hauptbahnhof stop in just 9 minutes
- As well as Kuhberg Schulzentrum on Saturdays: Take line 2 from the Kuhberg Schulzentrum stop to the city centre to the Hauptbahnhof stop in just 11 minutes
It is even more convenient to drive to the nearest railway station and take the train into the city. In the DING area, you can travel easily and cheaply with the Group (up to 5 people) or Single (up to 1 person) day ticket. You can find an overview of the Park & Ride car parks in the region here.
